Discusses the problems involved in obtaining field measurements of ice forces against off-shore structures and describes the installation of measuring equipment (load sensing devices, data recorders, remote control system) at a conical lighthouse pier at Yamachiche Bend, Lac St-Pierre, Quebec, Canada.
